For our third instalment of our Christmas sign-a-long series we have: Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer
Our second instalment is a Christmas classic – Away In A Manger
It’s time to feel festive – the first of our Makaton sign-a-long Christmas videos, Jingle Bells.
This blog contains information and ideas on how we use different ways of communicating in school to support the children. This includes spoken words, Makaton signs and symbols and PECS (The Picture Exchange Communication System),
Here is a photo of a Lego model that two children in Puffins class worked together to build. They did this in a communication lesson based on an approach called ‘Lego Therapy’. This approach helps to support the children’s language skills (e.g. describing the Lego bricks and talking about how to put them together) and their social skills (taking turns to do key jobs during the Lego build, asking for help and clarification if needed, and working together to complete a joint goal).
If you would like any information or support on using Lego building or other communication approaches, please do contact the school via your child’s home / school book.
