Another week in Puffins has come to an end.
We have been very busy this week – we’ve been practising lots for our Christmas play which we had on Thursday afternoon. We dressed up as teddy bears and did a fantastic teddy bear dance. Our friends and family came to watch us too! .
In cooking we made Christmas rice krispie cakes with different types of melted chocolate and then added lots of different Christmas decorations.
We’ve been doing lots of Christmas Art this week – We decorated our clay pots that we made last week in Christmas colours and glitter!!
We also made Christmas cards and Santa hats.
Looking forward to all of the excitement of the last week of term next week!!
Christmas has arrived in Puffins! We’ve been doing lots of fun things and lots of fantastic learning!
On Monday we made chocolate truffles – it was a very messy job but they came out great. We made a gift box for our truffles during our bucket time session this week and we sent them home to our family and friends to try!
Our bucket time sessions are starting to look very Christmassy. Emma made a Christmas tree out of shaving foam and added Brussel sprouts! Emma also wrapped us up in wrapping paper like presents and we popped out at the end.
In PSHE we have been looking at lights and candles and we made our own Christingles.
We also used clay to make tea light holders which we will be painting next week!
Keep an eye out for what we’re doing next week and remember next week is our Christmas Show!!
Week 5 finished!! Another busy week.
On Monday we made cheese scones in cooking which were delicious.
Tuesday was a busy day – we had PE with Justin using the apparatus, in Bucket Time we made stained glass windows for the classroom and then in the afternoon we celebrated a birthday and had lots of yummy cake!
On Wednesday morning we had Music with Sian – playing the African Drums, shakers and doing lots of singing! Later we went to Soft Play – one of our favourite things to do in the week!
We had a busy afternoon on Thursday. We recycled old materials and painted them to make our class Christmas Tree. We also had afternoon candle time with Emma’s multi-coloured candles exploring different lights and different music.
Christmas fun starts next week!!!
We’ve had another busy week in Puffins!
In cooking on Monday we made cheese straws, which were delicious. During group jobs this week, we’ve been practising our fine motor skills colouring different pictures by copying pictures on the plasma.
We had a musical bucket time on Tuesday, listening to noisy toys, making different chimes and playing them to see if they sounded different or the same. We had guitars using paper plates and different coloured stickers to decorate them!
We’ve also made shakers this week with rice, pasta and other materials and tested them to see if they sounded different to our friends shakers.
Another busy week finished in Puffins! This week we made star shaped biscuits in cooking, which were delicious. We have been playing the African drums with Sian in Music as well as playing different instruments like maracas and shakers! Singing with Sian is great fun too!
On Tuesday we used the climbing equipment in PE! We had a chance to use the balance boards and the ropes to swing.
Thursday was the Children in Need cafe and we gave money to charity in exchange for lots of delicious cakes! YUM!!
This week in Puffins we’ve been looking at different ways to make fireworks and how to stay safe when out and about on bonfire night. On Monday during cooking we made chocolate bread stick sparklers and we got very messy! On Tuesday we had a firework themed bucket with a lemonade explosion and making our own fireworks with different coloured paints and glitter.
In Science, we’ve been looking at different sources of light and exploring our own shadows. We played with different light up toys, made animal silhouettes and used torches to look at big and small shadows!
We started the week by making jelly with worms in to eat on Halloween on Wednesday. Our Bucket Time was Halloween themed too with a glittery spiders web and scooping out the pumpkin!
On Wednesday lots of us enjoyed putting on our Halloween costumes and having our spooky jelly snack!
Another exciting day on Thursday with the Teddy Bear’s Picnic! Unfortunately the weather wasn’t as dry as we would have liked but we did get outside earlier in the week to go on an autumn walk and to collect leaves for our teddy crowns and sun catchers. We all made sandwiches as well for the teddy bear’s picnic in the afternoon!
Hope you enjoy the photos!
We started off the week by baking bread hedgehogs! Hopefully they tasted nice…we have also had lots of messy shaving foam and been using playdough and plasticine to exercise our fingers and hands!
Hope you enjoy the photos!
